Shandréa Stallworth, M.s.
Shandréa Stallworth is currently a 4th-year PhD candidate at Mississippi State University, where she studies Weed Science with a concentration in Genetics. Shandréa is a three-time (2018, 2019, 2020) recipient of the MSSGC/NASA Fellowship where she focuses on enrichment in STEM programs within the K-12 school system while completing her dissertation in the utilization of weed species to discover stress-tolerant traits for rice breeding improvement. She received her Master of Science from Auburn University (2016) in Plant Breeding and her Bachelor of Science from Fort Valley State University (2011) in Plant Science and Biotechnology.
Shandréa currently serves as the Past National Graduate Student President for MANRRS and has served the Society for more than six years. While elected to national office, Shandréa remains involved in her local MANRRS chapter at MS State University as the Business Manager and as a graduate student mentor. Shandréa is a strong advocate for increasing diversity in STEM fields and has served on many committees to address the need to provide more opportunities for minority women in agriculture. She currently sits on the Science Policy Committee (SPC) for the American Society of Plant Biologists (ASPB), where she serves as the Early Career Representative.
