Give Specific was conceptualized in 2011 when a group of friends and colleagues decided that too many people were underserved due to lack of ability to donate directly to solving an immediate economic or social issue. Give Specific believes in advocating for the act of giving by facilitating connections to resources. Give Specific works to help communities and individuals seeking to grow as well as encourage giving to both small and large institutions seeking to improve equity in the communities around us.
Since 2011, we have led the effort to support communities and aid young adults in securing resources to pursue careers. From providing transportation to work in rural areas to sourcing fees for professional exams, we have focused on matching those with direct needs to resources for professional and developmental growth in an effort to improve the community. We aim to be at the forefront of nearly every major economic upward mobility cause.
Our current efforts include Career Cloud which is a virtual space for students to hear from young professionals in their aspiring fields. The structure of Career Cloud is a mix between an informational interview and a master class. Each month we highlight young professionals in a different industry and provide students with reflective questions curated by industry professionals and educators.
